Fire systems are vital pieces of equipment that have alerted many home owners to the first instance of smoke, preventing the development of full blown fires and the resulting, awful consequences.
Around 80 per cent of homes and businesses have a fire alarm – twenty years ago, only five per cent did. As fire systems have become more popular, the numbers of residential fires has decreased. A recent survey found that UK homeowners named the fire alarm as their most important gadget.
All homes and business should be fitted with at least one form of fire system; the most common and readily available being a conventional wall smoke detector. These come in many varieties:
An optical smoke detector employs an internal LED which registers smoke as it passes in to a constant, pulsing light stream. The interruption of this stream triggers the alarm.
An ionisation alarm uses irradiated air in dual sensing chambers which produce ions that travel to positive and negative electrodes and creating a current. Smoke interrupts this flow and sets off the alarm.
Heat detectors use thermistors to measure temperatures. When the temperature is raised, the alarm starts.
Sounder / strobe alarms are more likely to be seen in factories or on external walls. These industrial systems employ both sound and light to alert people of any danger. These devices often comprise a micro computer which allows for the combination of smoke detection and heat modes. No one will be able to ignore the light and sound warning that this alarm emits.
The placement of your smoke alarm is very important and requires some thought. Ideally there should be more than one device in each building. In the home, place between sleeping areas, so on the landing and also between rooms where there might be risk, i.e. the kitchen and lounge.
They should not be placed in areas of high humidity, like bathrooms or by fans, windows or doors or at the top of A frame roofs where ‘dead air’ might prevent the smoke reaching the detector in time.
It’s all very well buying and installing fire alarms, if they are not maintained, they might not work. The alarm must be well maintained and power sources checked weekly.
Amazingly, statistics show that one in three smoke alarms fails to work in the event of a fire. Just when you think you are protected…

One of important place to be install cctv is kitchen, because if u have a maid working at your home and it’s better to be monitoring what they are doing in kitchen when u leave a home for working or holiday. We don’t know what they doing at Kitchen Faucets but with place cctv camera to that place and u can easily monitoring what happening in your kitchen with live monitoring using web application.

How about cctv in bathroom? it’s good idea to be install at your home? no, that not good idea to be install cctv camera in bathroom but maybe do it some creative think how to manipulate cctv camera system in your house. The idea is- install secondary display monitor at near by your Bathroom Vanities and u can monitor what happen in your house during u get a shower or doing some relaxing in your home spa.
It’s just buy another cctv monitor and split the cable and pull to your bathroom and install it for the nice place and fit it with your view. Thats so easy and just plug and play. Just monitor only and no need to bring keyboard or controller. That the idea how to manipulate and get more creative with cctv system.
